The Showerwise Shower Filter

Is there anyone in the world that doesn’t love to take long, hot, steamy showers?
No. There is not.
Which is why this is going to bum you out:
Taking long hot showers can expose you to more toxic chemicals than actually drinking 2 liters of the same water!
This is because toxins evaporate out of the water into steam and are inhaled directly into your lungs.
They are also absorbed through your skin.
Chlorine alone has been linked to allergies, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, heart disease, strokes, cancer, and even premature aging of your skin.

The Showerwise Shower Filter removes 95% of chlorine as well as iron, lead, mercury, hydrogen sulfide, etc. It also inhibits bacterial, fungal and mildew growth. And depending on where you live, you may even notice an improvement in the look and feel of your hair.

I never thought my shower steam had an “odor” until I installed our Showerwise filter.
Afterward, I noticed that the familiar smell of the shower steam was different. Then I realized that there was no smell at all. The chlorine odor (and who knows what else) was gone.

The Showerwise comes with a massaging shower head and the filter lasts up to 18 months.
(It’s easy to swap out the shower head if you have one you prefer)

Chris – does it affect the water pressure?
    thanks!

    1. Chris Wark

Hi LeAnn I imagine it does affect it somewhat, but I didn’t notice any difference at our house.

        Thanks Chris!

Why do you prefer the Showerwise over the Berkey shower filter?

    1. Myo

Just looking for the answer to why you prefer the Showerwise over the Berkey shower filter because I am going to order a Berkey water filter and need to decide which shower filter to get before ordering the Berkey water filter. I appreciate any input you have. Thanks.

      1. Chris Wark

HI Myo. Here’s what I know: The Showerwise and Berkey both use KDF-55 filtration media and may be equally good.
I recommend the Showerwise because that’s the one I’ve had for years and I haven’t actually used the Berkey. :)

Do you receive incentives for advertising products on your website?

Chris, do you know if the showerwise or berkey shower filter remove flouride? thank you.

    ~kristy

    1. Chris Wark

No they don’t. I’ve never seen one that does.

  5. Kristy Leon

I called them and they said it doesn’t because to remove flouride, that would require some contact time with the filter, and they said only a whole-house filter could take out the flouride. But we got it anyway, until we can afford a whole-house one, because it takes out everything else! I ordered the berkey too, after watching your video. Thank you for sharing!

Are there any shower filters that fit the hand held type which are not like the traditional shower head?

    1. Chris Wark

Hi Bonnie you can attach a hand held to this filter but it doesn’t come with one.

So, am I not safe swimming @ the local aquatic center? I detox daily & have an organic plant based diet but am wondering if that’s enough.

    1. Chris Wark

Hi Joann, if you start to develop health problems it would be a good idea to stop swimming in a chlorinated pool. :)

Is there a filter for the bathtub?

  9. Ali

Does any shower filter filter out fluoride?

    1. Chris Wark

No. I’ve never seen a shower filter that can do that. Fluoride is more problematic when ingested versus bathing in it.

  10. Laurie

    hi Chris,
Are you still using this shower head or have you switched to the Berkeley shower head? I am single and I am going to purchase the travel Berkeley for my kitchen. However, do you still recommend the Showerwise filter?
    thanks,
    Laurie

I believe my city (Austin) uses chloramines instead of chlorine. Would this still be a good filter to purchase, if that is the case?
