“The body is a brilliant machine. The body knows how to heal. We just need to give it what it needs and remove what it doesn’t.” -Jenn Simmons, MD
Jenn Simmons, MD is back on the podcast to share more wisdom, knowledge, and valuable resources for breast health, breast cancer prevention and treatment.
Dr. Jenn Simmons is a conventionally trained physician turned Functional Medicine Doctor and Founder of RealHealth MD. She was a leading breast surgeon in Philadelphia for 17 years, but her increasing passion for healing rather than just treating illness, led her to “jump ship” and become a functional medicine practitioner.
Dr. Jenn Simmons has a new book called The Smart Woman’s Guide to Breast Cancer, which provides women with essential guidance and practical tools for navigating their breast cancer journey.
Dr. Jenn is a vocal opponent of screening mammograms, because they increase the risk of developing breast cancer.
The shocking truth is that for every 10,000 screened women, approximately one life is saved, but 10 new breast cancer diagnoses will be caused by the repeated exposure to high levels of radiation from repeated mammograms over the years.
Dr. Jenn’s opinion on screening mammograms should not be confused with diagnostic mammograms, which she considers to be a useful part of the diagnosis process.
For those of you that are in need of a PET/CT, mammogram, or an MRI with contrast, Dr. Jenn has provided these tips to help prevent radiation damage and detoxify from gadolinium toxicity.
Dr. Jenn’s Radiation Protection Protocol for PET/CT and mammograms:
-Melatonin: Take 100mg (5 capsules) one hour prior to radiologic study. If you are worried about sedation, do a trial run prior to see how you respond. This is not a sleep dose. Take along with vitamin C.
-Vitamin C: Take 2-4 tsp (2000-4000mg) one hour prior to radiologic study along with melatonin. Warning, vitamin C at this dose may give you diarrhea or loose stools.
-Nanoemulsion D3K2: Take eight pumps daily BEFORE 3:00pm starting the day before your study and continue for three days following your study. Hold under tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing. (Five days total).
-Liposomal Glutathione: 2 Pumps, twice per day. Take two pumps daily starting the day before your study and continue for three days following your study. Hold under tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing (Five days total). Best taken on an empty stomach.
Dr. Jenn’s preferred supplements for this protocol can be found here
Dr. Jenn’s MRI Gadolinium Protection Protocol
Take 60mg of zinc one hour before your MRI with contrast study as zinc competes with gadolinium. This helps prevent your body from absorbing the gadolinium. Continue to take 60mg of zinc per day for three days. Be sure to hydrate really well, drink at least half a gallon of water per day, to help flush out the gadolinium.
Note: MRIs require an empty stomach, no food the day of the scan. It makes sense to do a trial run with zinc a few days before your scan. Take 60 mg zinc on an empty stomach to make sure it does’t cause you any discomfort or nausea. If 60 mg is too much, try again with a smaller dose, like 30 mg. Some zinc is better than none.
Radiation-Free Breast Imaging
Dr. Jenn is a proponent of a new imaging technique called QT Imaging that is radiation-free and painless (no breast compression), that uses sound waves to create a true three dimensional reconstruction of the breast. This new technology has 200,000 times more data points and 40 times the resolution of an MRI.
I’m immensely grateful for Dr. Jenn’s conviction, her passion to serve and empower patients, to “first do no harm” in her practice, and for her courage to speak out and expose the rampant deception in the cancer industry. This is a conversation you don’t want to miss. Enjoy!

Love this interview…thx both of U….I stop screening mamograhm since 5/6 years now, but only screening ultra sound once a year..but the country where I live, they always recomending me to get the mamograhm before i take the breast ultrasound….I always refuse & say I need only ultrasound for breast screening, so they respect my word & let me go on with only B.breast U:S.

Hi Chris, wondered if any of you have watched a movie called Root Cause. It is very informative & has alot of good information pertaining to all sorts of ailments, including cancer. Please watch, if you haven’t.

How many milligrams of the liposomal glutathione and also the d3k2 omega are you suppose to take per pump. I have my own and I need to know how many milligrams I’m supposed to do.
Hi Chris and Dr. Jenn: Thank you for such an informative and enlightening interview. I’ve always believed that mammograms do more harm than good and never considered having one and I am 64 years old. I also believe that mammograms were invented to create more breast cancer patients for the medical industry. So, I was not surprised when some of your comments confirmed what I’ve always believed. I’ve also shared the info about mammograms (that I’ve learned through my own research) with my daughter so she can avoid being victimized by our medical industry. Thanks to your interview, I’ve also learned things that I didn’t know about mammograms. When you mentioned that this diagnostic tool can also increase the risk of heart disease and degenerative brain diseases, I was stunned! I was also surprised to learn that women with bigger breasts or denser breast tissue were automatically subjected to stronger radiation to provide a clearer picture on the X-rays. Thank you. That is important info that women need to know. But I doubt they’d get that info from their family doctor or their radiologist. And I believe that radiologists are aware of the damage these X-rays are doing to breast tissue. Afterall, they had to know what effects radiation has on human tissue before they became radiologists. Similarly, I believe doctors know the damaging side effects of the drugs they prescribe to their patients. They see these effects in the patients who have taken these drugs for years. So I can’t agree that doctors aren’t aware of these dangers when they prescribe these drugs. When doctors receive a new drug from their drug reps, it is accompanied with a drug info sheet for the doctor’s PDR. This sheet describes the possible serious side effects associated with this drug so the doctor knows what health effects might present in a patient who takes this drug. But I understand that you don’t want to incite more negative feedback from the “trolls”. However, I do appreciate your honesty about the ineffectiveness and harm caused by conventional medicine. It is so refreshing to hear the truth about health and wellness from a former advocate of conventional medicine. I am grateful that you decided to travel a different road for the benefit of all patients. I was thrilled when you said that “food is medicine” – a mantra that I have shared with others. I also want to thank Chris for inviting you to do this interview. He has been my wellness advocate for many years.
