“The future of medicine is the medicine of frequencies.” – Albert Einstein
Imagine a future where cancerous tumors inside the body could be destroyed using only sound waves. Well… the future is now. And it’s called histotripsy.
Histotripsy is a non-invasive process that uses sound waves to completely eliminate cancer tumors. Like radiation therapy, doctors point an ultrasound device at your tumor and “zap it.” But unlike radiotherapy, there is no cancer-causing radiation or heat involved, tumors can be destroyed in one treatment, there is minimal damage to surrounding tissue, a low rate of complications, faster recovery time, and it has been shown to activate immune cells to identify and target any remaining cancer cells in the body.
The term “histotripsy” is derived from two Greek root words. “Histo” means soft tissue and “tripsy” means break down.
The Science: Histotripsy uses short ultrasound bursts (microseconds in length) with a low duty cycle (≤1%) to minimize heating, and higher peak pressure amplitudes to generate acoustic cavitation from endogenous gas in tissues. Acoustic cavitation is the generation, oscillation, and collapse of microbubbles activated by ultrasound. Very high ultrasound pressure causes inertial expansion and collapse of cavitation bubbles that impart localized intense strain that can fracture cells into an acellular debris. (source)
Translation: Histotripsy uses targeted high-intensity ultrasound, which causes tiny bubbles of gas inside cells to rapidly expand and collapse causing the cell to rupture, essentially blowing up cancer cells from the inside. The cellular debris is then metabolized and eliminated by the body.
This process is similar to lithotripsy, which uses ultrasonic shockwaves to break up large kidney stones, except histotripsy is highly targeted, much more precise and able to destroy cells.
Histotripsy was first discovered by Zhen Xu PhD and colleagues at the University of Michigan in 2001 and has be in development for over twenty years, spearheaded by a company called HistoSonics, which manufactures the Edison Histotripsy System.
Histotripsy may help your immune system fight cancer
Two studies in rodents suggest that after a tumor is destroyed (liquified) by histotripsy, the immune system learns how to identify cancer cells as threats and activates a natural immune response to the remaining cancer.
In one study, only 50% to 75% of liver tumor volume was destroyed by histotripsy, but afterward, the rats’ immune systems eliminated the rest of the tumors. 80% of those rats had no evidence of recurrence or metastases after treatment. (source)
Another rat study shed more light on this phenomenon revealing that that histotripsy exposes cancer cell antigens to the immune system, which the immune system identifies as threats, thus empowering immune cells to recognize and kill previously “invisible” cancer cells. (source)
The implications of this are huge. Treating one tumor with histotripsy could potentially activate the immune system to kill remaining cancer cells in the body, thus eliminating the need for traditional surgery, radiation or drug therapies.
Histotripsy treatment options
In 2023, histotripsy therapy received FDA approval for treating liver tumors, including liver tumors that originated in other organs, but there are some eligibility restrictions and that’s the only cancer it’s approved for so far. There are ongoing clinical trials for liver, kidney and pancreatic tumors. Typically patients in clinical trials don’t have to pay for treatment. You can learn more about enrolling in one of these trials here.
Eli Vlaisavljevich PhD, associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics at Virginia Tech and his team are currently leading large projects to advance histotripsy for the treatment of other cancers, including pancreatic, breast, bone (osteosarcoma), soft tissue sarcoma, brain, and oral, as well as in other applications.
“This is an exciting milestone and hopefully the first of many applications that will be approved for histotripsy in the future,” said Vlaisavljevich. “Now, we are going after all the cancers.” (source)
There are no long-term human studies on histotripsy yet, so we don’t know what impact this procedure has on metastasis or long-term survival–only time will tell–but I am encouraged to see the early trial results showing a much lower risk of harm than surgery, chemo and radiation and potential whole body anticancer immune system activation.
Where to get histotripsy
As of the writing of this article (December 2024), there are currently 27 histotripsy providers in the United States and one in the United Arab Emirates. If the research continues to show benefits, I can forsee a not-too-distant future where histotripsy is available in every city and approved for most solid-tumor cancers.

what results are they getting with lobular breast cancer stage 1, treated with radiation, anestrozole for 4 years and double mastectomy. when i went for the 5 year check up, dr said no evidence of disease. i asked her if i would be ok and she said “ i would never say that cause im chinese and superstitious and i don’t want to jinx anything” i guess i am in remission but very anxious and tired. now followed by pcp.
I hear you.. In the same situation with Lung cancer and 2 surgeries in 2021. After numerous scanning twice a year the dr declared I’m cancer free and can stop screening. I asked the same question but my oncologist is not Chinese. I don’t want to see him again . He was there to inform me about the results of the scanning, the rest I did myself,
Incl. the reading of the blood work what he never did. Grateful to all the people who helped me in my journey. No conventional doctors among them.
Kat,
Sounds like you are on your way to healing. Best to you. Eat those veggies!!
Mi madre esta utilizando el tratamiento de Histrotripsia , mañana domingo 22, será su segunda sesión, tiene cancer al riñón etapa 4, tenemos mucha fé. Gracias Chris por alentar a la gente a cambiar su dieta
I have a consultation for this January 8th in Irvine. Pray for me!

What kind of cancer?
Hi Shelby, we’re all wishing you the very best! Are you actually getting histotripsy done? I’d love to find a location that is doing it for breast cancer. Thanks!
You got them prayers coming!
Best of luck to you Shelby, my prayers are certainly with you!!
I’m surprised this technology has not been applied to prostate cancer since HIFU is already being used.
I agree with you on that, I have metastic PC all through pine and pelvis etc, oh I prayed for something like this since I saw the YouTube video on sound healing

I had stage 1 non small cell carcinoma in my right lung. The doctor surgically removed the right upper lobe to minimize reoccurrence later. Is this type of cancer considered a solid tumor?
Very interested for my lung nodule that will be complicated to remove
and risky to biopsy??! The nodule is in the apex of my right lung, would
Ultrasound work for me? Pet Scan and CT positive….but cannot
conclusively identify until rejected and removed. However, my allergies
to metals would leave me with an inflammatory response in my lungs permanently unnecessarily?? Can a professional share their thoughts and let me know if this technology works on lung cancer?
Thank you-
Linda, praying for you. Wondering why is there metals involved? You spoke of a metal allergy that would leave you with a permanent inflammatory response. I’m just confused what causes or uses the metals? Thank you.
PS
That would be ‘Resected and Removed’ from the apex
of the right lung…..
Thanks,
Linda
Thank you for writing this article. My Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in December 2023. My older sister is in oncologist, so he has gone through a very aggressive chemo regimen that did not cure him. The goal was to do the chemo then, surgically remove the tumors that “shrunk”, but in order to do the surgery he had to be off the chemotherapy. Instead new tumors appeared…
I love how the Lord places a right people at the right time in our lives. I am close with an elderly neighbor of mine, I told her about my dad when he was first diagnosed and she saw the local news reporting on the new histotripsy procedure and I made note of it.
Fast forward all these months later, my dad has the very cancer that is eligible for this type of treatment! I’m grateful that he was willing to try it and well enough to travel, especially since he is flying from Tokyo to get treatment.

My dad got his first round of histotripsy in August. It was successful! He got his second round in November, but it’s too early to tell how his body will respond based on his latest scans, but I am hopeful and grateful that he was given the opportunity.
Also thank you Chris for the amazing information you share. I’ve been following you since 2013, done your square one program several times and bought your cookbook for my dad! I truly feel the Lord has prepared me for this fight to advocate for my dad. It all started when my mother was diagnosed of ovarian cancer and did all the traditional chemo treatments…she died 11 months later just after turning 55 years old.
After seeing her go through that, I told myself never again…there has to be a better way.
When I heard my dad was diagnosed with cancer, I knew I needed to encourage him to try a different route. I just hope it’s not too late. He will be coming at the end of December to surgically remove the last two tumors in his liver that they were unable to treat with histotripsy because of their location. This is the benefit of histotripsy, what they call conversion therapy.
Anyways, I am constantly looking and reading to see what else is out there – unfortunately I have lost all trust in the mainstream medical establishment (especially after COVID) Sadly even my naturopathic doctor questioned why I didn’t get the C0VID shot, of course she did and now has breast cancer…so, it was time to find a new doctor. I think there is a link between these surprise and turbo cancers and “the shot”. After all my dad was in his best health, very active and got regular checkups – but he got all the shots and boosters.
I found Dr. William Makis, apparently he has been able to help patients with cancer and vaccine injury with ivermectin and fenbendazole and wanted to see if you knew anything about these treatment regimens as well?
Thank you for all your you do and God bless you!
A friend of mine has had Histotripsy performed on them with success
Thank you Chris for this valuable information- it provides a lot of hope!
I’m so glad to be on your mailing list. I hope breast histotripsy is approved soon. I am having a biopsy on a suspicious lump in my breast and would prefer any treatment over chemo and radiation if mine is malignant. Does anyone know if health insurance, namely Medicare, is covering this treatment currently for lung cancer?
My Dad has had two histotripsy procedures…I was told that right now, histotripsy is only available for cancer in the liver, but as Chris’s article says they are hoping to branch out to other cancers.
Can histotripsy be used on esophageal cancer?
I’m very confident histotripsy will be shown to be an effective treatment against various types of cancer, just as cryoablation is. They both increase the tumor-specific immune response for whole body healing. I had cryoablation done two years ago for breast cancer, and because it’s not yet FDA approved for treating breast tumors, I had to pay cash. I’m grateful it was an option. Let’s pray RFK Jr. will help speed along approvals for these incredible alternative treatments.
Completely agree with you Elsie. Hope you are doing well.
Does anyone know if histotripsy is being used anywhere in the world for colon cancer?

Keeping all of you in my prayers!
I was diagnosed with HCC (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) in June 2023. I had surgery to remove a nearly 8 lb. tumor. It was determined that I would not need chemo or radiation. I did bloodwork and saw my oncologist every 3 months. Everything looked good until September 2024 where it was determined it has recurred. A biopsy showed “advanced” cancer (unstaged) and I began 4 treatments of immunotherapy. Tomorrow is my last one. I will have another CT scan December 30th and a visit with the oncologist on January 8th. I am 2 months into SQ1. It has changed my perspective on much of the medical diagnosis and treatment protocols. I feel great. My labs have all been in the normal range for which I am grateful. I see that John’s Hopkins (Maryland) is already using this technology. There is a large scale trial currently in 4 locations in the US. Langone Medical Center in NY is closest to me so I will reach out to them today to see if I’m a candidate for the trial. I will keep you all updated. Please keep me in your prayers that I can participate.
Prayers to you Melissa.
I’m a cancer “thriver” . I’ve had BC cancer for over 8 years. I’ve done all natural and lifestyle changes I still have cancer……..This therapy could be an amazing breakthrough for us! I have been to a clinic in Arizona “Sonic Wave” I only went once, but I was surprised at the noninvasive method. Oh, and what they can see with this machine!
The only concern I would have with this whole thing is, what caused the cancer….. lifestyle of wrong habits, hereditary weaknesses etc.? Some can’t put their faith in a miracle cure…. what caused the cancer can always cause it to come back again as well.
But we never know really what caused it unless it was BRACA … do we? Have no clue what caused mine 23 years ago. This would have been life changing considering all the side effects over the years from the aggressive chemo and radiation and hormone blocking therapies
Why can’t I find anything on vaginal adenocarcinoma? It is inoperable and there doesn’t seem to be anything that would help. Thank you for any info.

In case this is not an option for you, please look into the above link! sounds very interesting! Patients drink 13 juices a day (carrot, orange, green, etc. no kale or spinach bc high in oxylates) and they send you a bunch of supplements in the mail and you have to do coffee enemas (I heard some patients do up to 6-7 a day) and it’s an at home program! It sounds amazing & they have really great testimonials! Praying for all of you. God Bless
