At 20 years old, Hal Elrod was hit by a drunk driver head-on at 70 mph. The impact shattered 11 bones in his body, and he was clinically dead for six minutes before being resuscitated. When Hal awoke from a six-day coma, he was told he had permanent brain damage and that he would never walk again.
Three weeks later, Hal took his first steps.
In 2008, he ran a 52-mile ultra-marathon.
That same year, as the global economic crisis escalated, Hal lost half his clients, went bankrupt, and lost his home.
In the midst of this, Hal was inspired to write The Miracle Morning, a book that has sold millions of copies, been adapted into a feature-length documentary, and helped people all over the world transform their lives simply by changing their morning routine.
In 2016, at age 37, Hal was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia and given a 30% chance of survival. He decided he was going to be in the “30% survivors club.” And he did it.
Today, Hal is the author of 12 books, a keynote speaker, and a devoted husband and father of two children.
Hal has taken the lessons he learned from the most difficult seasons of his life and used them to help millions of people triumph over adversity. I hope this conversation blesses you as much as it did me.
This conversation was a blast. Hal’s faith, resilience, and practical advice on success and creating a Miracle Morning routine are pure gold. Enjoy!

Great interview with good information. I know he emphasized the mindset, but I also would have liked to hear about more of his physical strategies to beating cancer. Thanks.
I am so happy to get to know you through your course, books and interviews and when i was diagnose 2 yres ago with breast cancer with metastasis and they told me it s not curable but it s treatable and when i got out of the oncologist office I turn around to my friend and said I m gonna prove them wrong. Meaning I will be healed even though they told me there was only a very small percentage that heal…I am healing through my beliefs, my savior, my god and changes I made in my lifestyle an diet..thank you very much Chris for everything you do..

Great interview I loved it and so motivating and encouraging.
A really terrific interview…
Great interview Chis. Thank you much for what you do.
I am impressed and motivated by this post. I will adopt the 5 minute rule.
Great interview, but will one of you guys write a Senior Miracle Morning book for Seniors over 80. The standard response now is “oh you’ve lived your life, go home & wait to die”. I’m 88 & I feel like I’m 68 & I don’t want to stop “doing” because of a number. Thank You.
Glorious! Glory Be! Outrageously GREAT! Thank you both!
We all have MIRACLE DAYS even though we sometimes forget.
with gratitude, Elizabeth
Excellent interview Cris! I have shared it with
many friends! Both motivational and inspirational thank you
You are the best Chris..a great interview.
This was really fun for me. I am also a Gemini, and I recognized that in each of you. We can enthusiastically pursue multiple goals all over the place. (Maybe a bit distracted…)
Chris, I have all of your books. They really helped me when diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Later, we found a piece of my spleen attached itself to my pancreas and fooled everyone. I still use your books. There is a chance that my damaged pancreas may go in the cancer direction…
Any way, thank you both so much.

Great interview. You are both very inspiring.
Chris, your Square One also helped me when I had cancer. I have shared it with several other people.
Hal, your attitude, advice and faith are very encouraging.
Thank you to both of you.
