Dr. Matthew Lederman is a board-certified internal medicine physician, a New York Times bestselling author, and is featured in Forks Over Knives, a documentary I highly recommend.
Early in his medical career, Dr. Lederman became so frustrated that he nearly quit altogether. Then he learned about whole food plant-based eating, tried it, and was amazed by how much better he felt. This led him to study with Lifestyle Medicine pioneers Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, and Dr. T. Colin Campbell.
Dr. Matthew Lederman and his wife, Dr. Alona Pulde, co-founded Connection Docs and work with patients to improve their health through nutrition, lifestyle change, stress management, and emotional well-being.
Dr. Lederman has coauthored six books on health and nutrition. He also spent 10 years as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Whole Foods Market, where he helped develop healthcare programs focused on nutrition, disease prevention, and lifestyle medicine.
In our interview, Dr. Lederman explains why doctors often dismiss diet and lifestyle changes, and shares surprising statistics about prostate cancer treatments. We also talk about how chronic stress and fear affect your health, the impact of childhood trauma, and why finding peace and purpose is such an important part of healing.
I loved this conversation with Dr. Matthew Lederman. He’s a brilliant, compassionate doctor on a mission to help people heal from chronic disease, not just manage it. Enjoy!
