I love sharing stories of people who have healed “irreversible” chronic diseases.
Besides the many against-the-odds cancer survivor interviews I’ve done, I’ve also interviewed Dr. Brooke Goldner, who healed her lupus, and Dr. Saray Stancic, who reversed her multiple sclerosis.
Today, I want to introduce you to Shamiz Kachwalla, who healed his colitis and achieved exceptional health through diet and lifestyle changes.
In 2012, Shamiz was hospitalized with severe ulcerative colitis. Doctors told him he would be on medication for the rest of his life and that he would likely need surgery to remove part and eventually all of his colon.
But then Shamiz learned that a whole-food, plant-based diet with no restriction on carbohydrates could promote healing. Shamiz went “all in,” and his health began to improve in a matter of weeks. He has not taken medication since leaving the hospital in July 2012.
Here’s his before and after…

Today, Shamiz Kachwalla is an endurance athlete, Certified Holistic Health and Natural Healing Counselor, and co-founder of High Carb Health; teaching people how to heal ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
There are many people struggling with digestive issues. I’m excited to help Shamiz reach and inspire more people with his encouraging healing story.
Enjoy, and please share this interview with people you care about!

What a shame, Shamiz did not tell the doctors that he was not taking the drugs and that it was the food that was helping him. The doctors might have learned something. A wonderful story. And I’m so glad he made it and he’s loving enough to help others. Like you do do Chris.
Love this ❤️❤️ the medical fraternity need to catch up!!! I worked in medical rehab for 15 years. This information should be mandatory. We can heal and not succumb to the “sick care” narrative. There is a way!
1980 my mother had ulcerative colitis, put on steroids, which of course did not cure but suppress. Continued to decline to the point her only option was a colostomy. She found an MD who was also a classical homeopath and CURED within 4 months never to have an issue again. Homeopathy has great success treating ulcerative colitis.
One thing that is extremely important in your way to being healed is support from someone being there physically with you. When you are so sick and so weak, you just want to do nothing. And some people need that extra push because they feel that there is nothing they can do. I have a dear friend who is battling cancer, and when she was not that sick, I sent her videos by you Chris, and she always told me she was going to follow your advice. Unfortunately, she didn’t. Now her cancer has spread throughout her body and doctors keep given her chemotherapy treatments. She is now on immunotherapy treatments and her doctor is giving her hope that she is going to be cured. I personally think she is actually dying, so weak and in so much constant pain.
